You can just "move your rear axle back and inch"? Just like that?

Yes and no. As long as nothing is in the way, your springs and shocks still line up and don't fall out, and your driveshaft doesn't pull apart, then yes. Otherwise, no.

And take the easy trails.

I always take the easy trails. I gotta drive it home afterwards.
Actually, it did center the tire in the wheelwell and my springs are straighter

What do you gain by moving the axle back one inch??

The Rock Krawler arms were an inch longer than the Superlifts they were replacing. So, I was stuck moving the axle back 1 inch. Luckily, the tires fit the wheelwells better there and have ideal clearance. Its been almost a year and no adverse issues related to that have been noted.
All I gained was control arms that weren't broken and an axle that wasn't flopping around. That had nothing to do with a longer wheelbase.

So they didn't make adjustable arms? Not criticizing...trying to learn...thanks Gary

Yep, they are adjustable. The new Rock Krawlers are adjusted as short as they will go. To line up the pinion, I had to lengthen the lower Superlifts.
