    Default Thrca's Project: N.W.O.

    2008 and earlier:
    -2.5in suspension lift *DONE*
    -3in Body lift *DONE*
    -Replace Trans *DONE
    -Ford 8.8in Rear End *DONE*
    -Regear to 4.10 *DONE*
    -New Speed Sensor Gear *DONE*
    -OBA *DONE* http://gallery.thrca.com/main.php/v/...s/on_board_air
-Riddler 8.8 Diff Cover *DONE* http://gallery.thrca.com/main.php?g2...serialNumber=1
-Replace Bent 8.8 Axle Shaft *DONE*

    Spring/Summer 2009:
-New set of air tools to ride in the Jeep *DONE*
-Mount tow hooks on front *DONE* http://gallery.thrca.com/main.php/v/..._bumper_hooks/
-New check valve for OBA (on its way, thanks eBay) *DONE*
-Copper hardline from compressor to tank for OBA. *DONE*
    -Rear bumper fab *DONE* http://gallery.thrca.com/main.php/v/...s/rear_bumper/
-Drill new trailflag hole on passenger side of bumper. Driver side mounting makes drive-thrus really annoying. *DONE*
-Rear air connection from tank. *DONE*
-New Harley footpegs for when I have the doors off. (Bolt is 3/8x3-xx) *DONE*

    -Long Arm Suspension *IN PROGRESS*
    -16in Air Shocks *IN PROGRESS*
    -39.5in IROKs *IN PROGRESS*

Stuff I decided not to do:
-New center console *IN PROGRESS* http://gallery.thrca.com/main.php/v/...enter_console/
    -Reduce to 1in body lift
-Limb Risers. Have 1/8th stainless cable to go from front corners to top of A-pillars. Hopefully I will get this done so tree branches dont hit me in the face again.
-Swing down full size spare mount
-Hi-Lift mount on rear bumper (or hood, undecided) I think I will go with hood, with a lightbar underneath.
    -Herculiner in place of carpet
    -D44 Locker
    -8.8 Locker
    -Antirock sway bar
    -Replace Shocks/Springs
    -Fab Long Arms *PARTS ACQUISITION*
-Winch - Looking at Superwinch EPi9.0
    -5.13 Gears (Maybe)
-Fab Steering, Oil Pan, Shock/LCA mount, and Tranny skid plates
-D44 Front, High Steer, lockouts, Pass drop 5x5.5 *ACQUIRED D44*
    -Super 88 5x5.5 kit
-Dana 300 Dual Stick *ACQUIRED D300* *REBUILDING SPARE AX15*
-Front Shock Stuf Adapter *ACQUIRED* Waiting for new shocks to use this
-Rebuild AX15 spare tranny *IN PROGRESS* http://gallery.thrca.com/main.php/v/.../ax15_rebuild/
    -Custom Badging *IN PROGRESS* http://gallery.thrca.com/main.php/v/...ustom_badging/
-Add drain cock to tank - I will just take out the plug now and then. Dont want a drain to get ripped off on a rock.
-Full Size Spare mount on rear door - Too heavy, Need to make carrier instead
-sPOD relay module - This may come about in the future, but I chose to use a distribution block instead for this purpose
-sPOD overhead switch cluster - Making my own switch panel, besides, this cluster would interfere with my hard top
-New stainless hardline from compressor to manifold for OBA - Put in copper cooling line from compressor to tank instead
-Novak Transfer Case Shifter - Putting in a D300, so this is no longer required

    - 4 x 2" Should work fine for a bumper
    - Make me some hardline too!
    - Mounting a spare on your door may be a problem!
    - Hi-Lift mounting was done last year at the dunes. Remember there were like 7 zip-ties holding that thing on!
    - What kind of rails do you want? I'll make something for ya. I'll get some pictures of some ideas together.

    - Yeah, we will see how it looks in the next couple days.

    - I'll see what I can do. Im sure I can come up with enough hardline, but we would need to measure it up to figure out how long it needs to be, and what type of ends you want on it.

    - Will it cause the door to sag?

-The hi-lift mounting is still in place, but its taking up valuable space inside.. want to mount it outside somewhere.

-Want rails like the ones you made. Call me with a price.

This worked really well. I used 5ft of 1/4" copper line. It looks cool (shiny, for now) and cools the air from the compressor a LOT. The part closest to the compressor is too hot to touch after a few minutes of operation, while the other side of the coil is just warm. The PVC hose seems to like this much better. Im not sure how the copper will hold up over time though, so if I end up having to replace it, I will go to 1/4in stainless hardline as originally planned.

-Rear bumper fab. I have a hunk of 4 x 2 3/16ths wall for the bumper. Not my best choice, but on my limited time and budget at the moment, it will have to do. 2" receiver and D rings going on this. Clevis ring purchased for D-Ring. *DONE*

It was in the piles of stuff at my dads, but it would probably be about 45-60 bucks worth of steel.

Well, I thoroughly tested the strength of the welds, and they passed.

At TT saturday, I yanked on LuckyCharm4x4 for a while on the D-Rings when he got stock in the first mud hole he drove in (not really his fault, it was a LOT deeper than it looked.)

Then, on some of the technical trails going up hill over large rocks, I bashed them against several rocks with the full weight of the Jeep, and the same to the receiver. They didnt budge.

I have determined that I need to build some tube fenders, since I hit about 10 trees and bashed up my fenders pretty good. Somehow, the plastic fender flares lived through the ordeal.

Carnage pics later today, but here is a list:
Bent in front left AND right fenders
Broken front side corner markers left AND right
Rock Rash on left side front and back rims, and right rear rim
Rock Rash on left rear D-Ring
    Rock Rash on 2" Receiver
Broken Bolts on the drivers side factory step

    Overall, pretty light!
