I'm jaded about off road rigs . I have spent to much time around some way cool rigs , thats my guess . Bob Fox and his killer Hemi powered rig , Jsawduste and his built to the hilt YJ , Koz and his dana 60'ed Grand . Hell i could name rigs all night that are way out side of my league .
In my eyes and im sure most of the real wheelers my GMC is pretty ho hum average , thats how i feel about it atleast . The last 2 days iv driven it to town 3 times , 2 auto parts and over to the scales to weigh it . Each time some one i dont even know has made comments about how bad ass it looks ( its rusty and has 2 colors on it ) The first guy at the auto parts was asking if id be interested in trading for his car . It comes down to 1 of 2 things , these guys are more desperate then id like to think or im jaded by all the truly cool rigs iv been around to think this one is very cool .
Around here , the land of low income and red necks they would shit looking over some of the rigs i get to see out and about .

It did look pretty bad ass as he came around the corner, here on our road, I had to call and tell him that

Didn't know it would be such an ego boost, would have told
him sooner....:hehe: If i had seen him earlier, it was pretty bad
ass looking though, I can't wait for Shaker II to be
complete, it is going to look as cool if not more cooler

Yes you are Jaded.
Some of you do not see your own talent's.
Each rig is a type of Art work by its owner. and when others see them they wish they had your talents. Not just anyone can break down a vehicle mix up the parts put them back together and have them work let alone do what your rigs do off road.

He will be at my place tomorrow night , staying here then up to the dec 1st event .
Dont take me wrong on this post , my rig is what i want it to be . Im pleased with it assuming it wheels well . On boards such as this friends support each other so of course every one says nice job , looks good and so on . I was just a bit surprised to hear nice comments out in public when the body looks like a junk yard reject still :hehe:
By the way my very first stop in town as the Marathon at 55 and Houghton ave . Soon as i put it in park i look up and see this pulling in and parking . I had to smile to my self and think OH boy that didnt take long . All he said was Hi Marv

Marv, it's like a fine wine.
People see your rig not for what's on the outside, but the heart and soul that was poured in to build it. It reflects you! Shows off your talant and appreciation to function, not a chromed out show truck with 8 shocks at all four corners and springs with such an arc they could be horse shoes, topped off with a killer paint job and only sees mud from a distance. When I saw it last weekend, I was very impressed. Not by the size (thats for Miff) but by the functional aspect.

I have a hood to match the fenders, then you'd look like LAPD. I cut the rear quarters off my 4dr blazer at the trimline and fabbed up a wrap around bumper like a grand wagoneer would have. Didn't quite have it finished when it puked. I was planning on cutting off the rusty rockers and rebuild them with 1/8" plate. Had a winch bumper on the front with a pre-runner bar too.

Heck, you did a SAS on a Blazer, I think that's worth about +5 at least.

Marv,
Miffy has it right on.
While I say thanks to the kind words about the YJ. Having the talent to do what you do is a special gift. Not many folks can have there projects turn out as well as yours.
I can design and engineer but the execution in metal is beyond my means. You can do both.
Now if you want an 18th Century reproduction out of figured maple. Now were talking.
Wood doesnt weld well.:hehe:
