Will a 79 Scout 44 help or are you looking for spare shafts?

Well the scout will be 5 on 5.5.
Also, if it will help, I have 5 rims that are Chevy 6 lug 15 x 10.

you can also look for an Isuzu Dana 44 rear
- 6 x 5.5
- factory disc brakes
- gear came in 4.10, 4.30, and 4.56:1 gear ratios.
- nice width match to a waggy front
- only downfall is they have a emtric flange on them instead of a yoke but you can buy a normal 44 yoke for about $35 and you'd have factory discs
Begin shameless rim plug:
I also have a set of stock grand waggy rims, the common gold on aluminum ones similar to these

They are 15x7 or 7.5 (don't recall). I've got my 35 x12.5 x15 MTR's mounted the same size rims and they work very well. if your interested, let me know and we can work out a cheap price.
End shameless rim plug

No problem, seems that I remember Cooter having one a while back and upon a quick search over at great lakes, it looks like Pete M had one too. These would both be older posts so who knows if they still got em, but might be a good place to begin!

Would you consider a FSJ C20? Stronger than a D44, the correct bolt pattern, the diff parts are fully compatible with CJ C20's, and the carrier break is 3.08-up.

im really more interested in the D44. to be honest thanx for the offer tho pp.
i got a pm from someone that has a isuzu rear 44 but.
needs carrier, ring & pinon, rotors, calipers, some of the ebrake stuff and the backing plates are bent (for the ebrake)
pretty much a housing, shafts, cover, caliper brackets.
any thoughts?

stick to a matching rear waggy 44. then u have matching axles front and rear. no sense of not doing it. exact same width and everything. can buy a set for a spares.

doesnt have to be the same year. just the same axle. not sure if there was any differences between the rear waggy axles over the years. that would be something to look into.

I'd avoid the incomplete axle, it will nickle and dime you to death.
I'd still look for a Isuzu 44, though it may be tougher to find. It's basically identical to a waggy 44 except that it has disc brakes (about $400 upgrade to do on a waggy 44) plus it has the right carrier. the break in dana 44's is 3.72 and up. the waggy axle is going to have the series 3 carrier (numerically lower than 3.72). You'll either have to buy thick gears or a new carrier if you get a waggy 44, either of which is going to cost a little more money (not much though, maybe $50 or so for either)
I say all that BUT I wouldn't turn down a waggy 44 if you found one because the isuzu may be tough to find.

:fryingpan:
3.73-down, 3.92-up.

I've never run into any differences in Grand Waggy rear Dana 44's other than gear ratios. (1980-1985 GW will be AMC 20's and 1986-91 will be D44's)
There are some different 44's in the other waggy/cherokee models such as being offset or being slightly wider for wide track at 62.3" (1974-1979) or slightly narrower at 57" (1963-1973)
