Well I just started a new bumper for a friends XJ. He wants a prerunner style with a stinger basically. He is not afraid of being diffent either so i have some freedom and we are going to run with it.
Also the bottom bar was a spare piece and didn't quite work out.... the ends were fubared to begin with. So i am going to bend up another one.

why the bend down? are you going to fill the void in the tubes? it looks sweet. how thick did you use, and wheres the winch mount?

not sure if there will be any thing in the middle yet but here is a rough idea of what we are shooting for. When he does decide to get a winch it will get recessed into the grill like mine and the bumper will be modified to fit.
Bumper is 1.75 x .120 DOM and 1 1/2 sch. 40 pipe
He likes the bend down, thinks its like a mustache

I kind of like the look of it , look at rodolos with out the tongue :hehe:
matter of preference but i never liked the prerunner loops on the front of any truck . Unless you have a habit of running into tall objects there pointless as well .

The theory is to get it high enough to protect the radiator if you roll it - at least that was why I did mine. I saw them keep a rig or two drivable and able to get out under their own power in KY. Not real useful in MI.

use a bolt-on piece to make another section of tube that follows the fenderwell back to sliders...beginning of a frontal cage...

put a "chin" of sorts on the lower center part to protect the bottom part of the rad

We were actually discussing that today at work, i think it would look the best but i still have a few things to do on my jeep befor the gig. we'll see i'm sure i'll decide on something tomorrow and get it finished up

Its all tacked up, just have to pull it off tomorrow and weld it and paint it. Just need a winch to fill in the center now

I like it but I would have put more of the bend in the one thing there.

Never been much for stingers but you made it more of a brush guard, it looks good on there. Looks light but strong, nice work.

And this is what justin has been working on for the past couple of weeks... 1/4 doors? I'm still not sure what to think of them myself, mainly i think tey might look better with bigger rubber under the rig.

Never understood the 1/4 doors thing. Why even bother with doors?
And it defeats the whole idea of sitting there in the summer in the A/C, safe from the black flies while you laugh at your friends.
