well im running flat leafs and my shackle mount on my back bumper (mounting hole probably sits close to the middle of the bumper vertical wise). all i can think of is maybe remove a leaf to loose a 3/8" or so, make a new front frame mount to get a 1/2" and make new spring perches that are not as tall, probably gain 3/4" that way. smaller shackle (running a stock yj shackle) so i couldnt go that much of a smaller shackle anyways. trying to get it 3-4" or so lower without frenching the frames anyone have any ideas? i will not SUA it, but may end just saying screw it and link it.

I have seen people run negative arched springs on SOA Jeeps before, but I don't think you can get 3-4" out of that...

i was afraid im was going to end up linking it. im trying to avoid running springs that negative arch under weight.

i helped you build the original lief set up, is it still the same?

if so isnt there room to move the front of the springs up farther if you spead the mout out a bit?

They don't negative arch under weight, they're normally that way (like Chevy front truck springs). I'd bet you could get a good 3"-4" out of that.

its still the same. expect stock XJ's with a XJ main added instead of a k20 main added. the mount could be moved up a 1/2" tops. and the rear mount cant really be moved up or the springs will bottom out fast on the frame rail.

basically ill just try and run negative archd springs and a antiwrap bar i guess. worth a shot i guess.

I thinks its just right the way it is ! i wouldnt change a thing.. lowering it you risk getting into your fenders at flex ( mine get into the front fenders like MAD in deep flex.. )

Chevy springs (K-series) are negative arch. I believe the pre-1994 Dodge trucks were like that also. Obviously, you couldn't use XJ springs.

To me, it looks good. Have the springs been on there for a while? If they haven't, they might settle a bit with use.

Here in MI, uptravel is nice to have. Jumping the dunes or higher speed whoops like snow running. With little uptravel, you force the body to roll when its out of travel, can actually tip/roll you faster in a low rig than a taller one that can absorb the rock with its travel instead of tilting the body.
