If you have a body lift it makes it alot easyer on the dakota. Done it acouple times on my buddies. could be a bearing, when does it wine, all the time, accel, decel?

I would put fluid in first and see if it goes away then fix the leak. why pull it an extra time if it's still noisy after the seal change.

Wait there's suposed to be fluid in it:wtf: thought it was one of those self lubin things.
Mix in some Lucas oil treatment with the tranny fluid that's going into the T-case.

Actually this has been my best vehicle BY FAR! I have had very little things break, most problems have been with the ball joints and wheel berings. I think thats what the whining is now thats its winter... damn 33's kill wheel bearings.
