Married 16 years eh , well i got 30 in so maybe ill offer you a little different idea .

Get " her " something that gets you out of the house , oh ya the kids go with you .

Seems to be the best gift i can give these days , second option is sending her somewhere , same concept same result . Question is just who is going

We tend to over look the simple John :ptt:

You've mentioned what she wouldn't want....what does she do in her spare time?

Hobbies, does she drive alot, does she garden?

I like books on cd...I'm in the car alot and don't have time to read

Barbie's idea of the day spa is wonderful. I got a gift certificate from my mother in law for my birthday and im excited to go.

A weekend trip away might also be nice for some alone time.

Not knowing your wife this will be hard...

if she likes to Cook, A Kitchen Aid.. Mixer that is stright up awsome.. runs about 180 bucks

If she likes to sew..... Gift card to Joanne's Fabric. (Its like men's tools you will not get the right thing)

If she is like me , and I do not know how well you can work with wood. Home Made Shelves or something to put out in your Yard. That you make yourself. wishing well, light house like that.

Don't know what type of yard you have. or if she likes to work out in the yard. but a wagon with tools for working flower gardens etc. or if she would enjoy watching the Birds. Bird feeders with seed.

or a Hammock for her to relax in the summer

she have auto start on her vehicle?

Grandfather clock?

Nice Center Piece for your table?

China?

Warn Robe with matching slippers( do not buy ugly animal ones!)

Ok I am done thinking now......:hehe:

Hey, who knows??? Maybe Warn does have a nice robe. And it doubles as a winch cover when you're not wearing it around the house.

Some great ideas folks. Keep`m coming

She does like digging holes in the backyard and burying things. So a garden cart might be a good idea. Our wheelbarrow has a cracked handle. Maybe a new wheelbarrow ? Naw she will want black if I get red. Or Green if I get black.

Could make a makeup dresser for her. She uses a old piece from a garage sale now. Maybe a new mirror to go with it.

What do I look for in a spa ? Something she and her sister could use. Marv`s idea sounds good. Get her out of the house. :wave4:
Do something that has a hotel room included in the package.

Getting warm folks.

A "Warn" robe is a thought too.

Still I think a set of 17" 8 lug beadlocks would be the best........:nate:

if she is like me, she probably has a bunch of old photos and stuff from the kids that she has been "meaning" to organize and most likely get into a photo album. See if there is someone in your family that might be willing to do it for you. Or go through the pictures and kids' art things and pick out some cute things that maybe could be framed. JoAnn's has custom framing (it isn't cheap, even with their 1/2 off coupons...) They may be able to do a collage of sorts that would make your wife fall over with all the thought and creativity you put into it.

Or, if she is a crafty sort and wants to do the scrap booking herself, see if there is somewhere that has a day seminar and get her a gift certificate.

Give her a "honey do" coupon book that contains things you and the kids (I'm assuming you have kids--I don't pay enough attention to know if you do or not...) will do for her whenever she presents a coupon. Might be things like "do the dishes" "put away clothes/do laundry" or an "I'm not in charge; I'm taking a bath" coupon that she can use whenever she wants to get away. Silly things, but if you take some time to think of the things that she really likes others to do on ocassion, you will hit the jack pot.

A day spa thing is nice as well. I got a full day one and it was a bit much for me--I was ready to get the heck out of there a few hours before they were ready to let me go. But she may love to get mini spa things that she can use when she wants. For me, pedicures are a treat. Check out if you have a cosmetology school nearby because they usually are pretty good and rather cheap. Same with massage places. We have a therapy school nearby and we can get hour long massages for under $40. And they are usually great because the students need so many "passing" hours of training to graduate.

Anyway, hope that helps a bit.
