Hiawatha National Forest Clean-up

[MuddyPaws 3.0]

I know, short notice, but with the help of Waste Management, the Dafter Landfill, U.S. Forest Service, Bay Mills Indian Community and Mike Carrick....we will be heading out into the Hiawatha National Forest this coming Saturday and Sunday to clean the place up.

This is a joint effort among many people. Members from MichiganWheelers will be out there in a strong force. Many thinks to Rudy Johnson, Don Michaels (USFS), and Joe Carrick for really pulling this thing all together for us.



If you are in the area, please come out and lend a hand. We are meeting at 8am at the Chippewa Township Hall.

Free lunch at Maple Ridge on Saturday and Free pizza at Lumberjacks Bar on Sunday for your efforts.

it is the bars that go across the back window so you dont brake it (i am very good at doing that :hehe: hence the reason i have the bars) but yeah right now it is taking up my whole bed so yeah...

I'm still trying, but it's not looking good on having the gas money to get up there this weekend.

EQ, 4x4 pick up trucks or jeeps with small utility trailers in tow work well for getting in and out of the dead end trails that see the most dumping (and hauling it back out without making the inside of your vehicle smell awful for the next 2 weeks). Work gloves, trash bags, shovels and rakes come in handy sometimes too.

If I can't get up there, I hope you all have a great time and get to make a fantastic impression on the Hiawatha Rangers!

We are going to have shovels and rakes and a chain saw. I am trying to get a pitch fork or two. But basicly all you need is appropriate cloths and maybe some work gloves to keep your soft hands safe.

I'll be bringing a big cooler full of pop for all to share.
