My partner will be my Winchester Mod 70, about 1942, 30-06. I take my .32 spl in case I happen to damage the scope on the -06 or if the weather is real crappy. If I go downstate to the folks later in the season, I use my 870 rifled w cantilever scope mount.

Depends what the weather is, one side of the property is open, .243 with a 3-9x40 Simmons Whitetail scope. If i am in the woods I might go 870w/buckshot, or 16 ga slug. Too many choices...

None. I think that if hunters were real men, they would give the deer a gun as well.

Don't get out for gun season much - public land is too much of a zoo...

So, normally it's a Browning Combustion compound bow through October into mid-November.

In rifle country usually Remington 7400 in .270 Win or Marlin .30-30. In OH or the MI shotgun zone the 12 ga Winchester 1300 Black Talon rifled slug gun. Sometimes in the OH or the shotgun zone and during muzzleloader season it's a Thompson Balck Diamond .50 with 150 grains of pyrodex.

Just put the bow up for the season tonight. Don't care much for gun season, too many idiots in the woods squabbling over territory. Time to get out the beaver traps and head north for a couple weeks. Then break out the CVA for muzzle loader in december.

.32 Winchester Special with a peep sight. I only hunt on family property in the Yoop, and it is all wooded. Very little need for a scope. I like the light weight of my little 32, and I have never had a problem with it doing it's job.

I was unable to make it up for the opener this year, but I plan on hunting next week over the T-Day holiday.
