another f150 problem

it sounds like popcorn is poping on "tip-in" (take off) for about the first 1/4 mile after a cold start (sitting about 6 hours). doesnt effect driving at all, not heatshields, kinda sounds like predetination but why only the first 1/4mile? cant figure it out but its annoying and scarey sounding. let me hear ur thoughts?

If it's spark knocking, it could be one of the temp sensors. Had an Oldsmobile that did that. Took a while but finally found that it was the computer temp sensor that was doing it. It would start spark knocking just going down the road. When they are cold, they are supposed to full advance the timeing apparently to make it start easier.
