What do you think? 2 inch spacers too much? 1.25 or 1.5 a better choice? I know the ball joint and wheel bearing issues. Not worried about that....lifetime warranty on all of those if the wear fast. Just wondering if 2 inches will bake me rip the ball joints out on the trail.

I've known a few people that have ran 2" spacers with no problems.

i think that brent should come up with a formula to figure out how much force is generated the farther you move the wheel out board of the bearing vers. what the ball joint for that axles minimum fail rate is. and chart it.
that and make me a pie

Should take 6 minutes for the formula and an hour for the pie.

i would say not to do it Tim
thats alot of leverage.
2" adds up fast when you add a rotating force and the possibility of some oddball off camber weight focusing.
but since Brent hasn't put the math to it i can only speculate

Damn it.

Well, we'll just have to see now. I ordered them last night.bjb

If they give me bad trouble, i'll sell them to XJToivo.

chances are, that under your rig they'll be fine
Ive wheeled with you and your careful about wheel placement etc.
plus i know you quality good ball joints
and if they do break i will only point and laff for 6 minutes
then ill help you get it out :hehe:

hahahahahaha

I dunno....I am building a rig with lesser horse power, so I may be harder on it. Time will tell.

The only bad part is that all the sheet metal is good on this one...so I may start wheelin like a wuss. :hehe:

What is your wheel backspacing? Just add 2" to that.

Your scrub radius will increase and effect the return to center of the steering a bit, along with tire wear. You also have the wheel bearing and ball joint leverage issues.

From my experience, parts live on the jeep dana 30's with 12.5" wide tires and 3.75" or more backspacing. Where I personally started experiencing accelerated wear problems is at 3" backspacing.

My experience is based off of moderate trails, lockers, a heavy foot when needed, having fun with tire pick on the street, and daily driving.

I know for sure that there will be bearing issues but I seem to have gotten one of the last of the lifetime warranties on these things from NAPA so I don't really care.
