Spring Drummond Island Run May 2-4, 2008

The date has finally been set. Details on camping and hotel rooms(for the womenz) will be posted asap. We will be spending 2 full days at Turtle Ridge. Please post if you plan on going. Also, check back for further details. Post up or PM drummond or me with any questions.

I have included vehicle type (to the best of my knowledge) to this list. I am trying to get a grasp on what size and capabilities that we have here. I would encourage 33's and at least one locker, due to spring conditions and terrain at the ORV park. If you have less that what i specified, PM me and we can talk, it doesnt necessarily mean that you cannot join.

Let me know how many people you plan to have along with you, and if you plan to stay in the resort. I then can get an idea for the amount of people/rooms that would like to stay at the hotel. More people=less price

Again, as posted above, we will be spending two days at Turtle Ridge Orv Park www.turtleridgeorv.com I will also be leading a night run friday evening for those that would like to come.

Yes the plan is for Friday and Saturday at the park. It is more technical, and not as much "bouncing" down the trails on the island. There maybe a night run on state land, but that will be discussed at a later point.

I can call Amy Hoffman at the resort when we get a general idea of how many rooms/people will want to stay there.

I like the resort idea like last year if at all possible. If so Im in for that, it has a bar in stumbling distance, and I thought was a real good deal. Also I liked the fact you could rebuild a starter under the Porch. ha ha ha.

roadhouse, this is where everyone stayed last year. http://www.drummondisland.com at the lodge. We got a discounted rate due to off-season times, it was roughly $79 looking back to my posts from last year. I am working on getting a discounted rate this year as well.

The resort was very nice. They have rooms with 3 beds, one in a loft area. VERY COOL. 6 people could sleep comfortably in one of those rooms.

i am well aware of the ORV status on the island, been pretty active in it for the last 5 years or so (have a home on the island). Believe me, all precautions will be made, and things handled in the correct manner

It is for sure we all have to very mindful when we are on public land. So few places to ride anymore. We don't dare give anyone any ammunition.

Of course this is why I prefer to play in the parks. We all have rigs that can go most anywhere we point them anyway. No sense in tearing up public land. The fact that we are planning two days in the park makes the trip all the more eagerly anticipated to me. A great chance to hang out with like minded, (well somewhat anyway), people. Sure looking forward to it!

I would be glad to have you guys come with us, I haven't seen you guys in a quite a while. How have you guys been? I wheeled with you at DOA back in 2006, and in Gitchee Gumee Canada 2006 as well. I was on the trail when the rubicon snapped the shaft on Wolf Creek pass in Canada, and we had to pull that shaft out...quite a day. My dad and I were in the CJ-5, and I even had to winch ya back:woot: We will have to meet up for breakfast at the Bear Track again

Personally I think that your rig would be outclassed by the terrain in the park. 30's and open at both ends is really not what you want to run in the park.
