Im looking for some ideas for latches for my tube doors. I used factory hinges to make mounts but I ran out of ideas for a latch.
The factory latch looks like this

way to big for tube doors.
The factory door latches to a striker like this http://www.goodmarkindustries.com/grphx/GM%20Car%20Photos/4030-606-64%20COLOR.JPG
I found some bear claw latches but there pretty damn expenive

you could make a simple hook and spring latch
you could make a hook out of 1/4" plate with a bolt or steel dowl for the pivot
and for class a chevy throttle return pring to keep the hook on the latch pin
