I was over there yesterday and stopped in and had some pizza there. Today I had the family and by the time we drove all around, we had to get back so no time to stop.
Couldn't find the road I went there looking for.

here is a link - with pics to the area, that your looking for off Whitman Dam Rd, pics of the falls are at the bottom, crossing below the falls is still doo/able, if the water is low, the trail on the other side that loops back to Shults Rd is alittle overgrown. just a mile north of the falls you could of turned right off Whitman Dam Rd, that heads east to Golf Lake, that has a bridge out, but can still make it over,

the falls are a nice site to see, most people think the Goulais River is just a winding slow moving river, but not at its head ways.
Here is a slide/show of most of the same area, dont mind the rig pics, its just my heep, but do have a camp site in the same area, that has a open welcome to all to stay and to venture out when ever you want, cheers
oh and the fish are still bitting !!!
click on the pic

xjcoupe, you talk as if the river is still legal to cross. In 2006 we had a group stopped there by the MNR and told that the crossing is off limits. So is the crossing @ East Goulais river road.
Do you know something different or are people just ignoring the law?

I dont think theres any law again it, not that I have ever seen, or signs posted in that area, from the MNR, Most of the time the MNR guys are parked on Whitman Dam Rd on that stretch of road close to the falls, to do spot checks on fishman/hunters, once you get to that point of the road comming out to Searchmont theres no turning back.
On the other hand- a few years back, some crazy fisherman tried to cross, with a 4x4 hydo'd it, left it there a couple days in the water- MNR were pissed
