I am doing a 4.0 swap in my 2.5 TJ. Engine going in is a 98 4.0 from a Grand Cherokee. I plan to use the ECM from the Grand. It did not come with a throttle body - but I do have one from a 92. Would it work? I know the 92 is ODBI, while the 98 is ODBII - and I have read there are differences in the sensors - but would the ones on the 92 throttle body still be OK on the 98 ECM? Thanks in advance!

you might be able to use the sensor and IAC off you 2.5 throtle body on the 4.0 one I would look at trying that since it would be free. I really don't know just tossing it out there.

you will need the 97+ 4.0L throttle body, and sensors

pre 97 does not have the map sensor provision built into the throttle body.

I totally forgot about this thread! (for some reason I frequently dont get email notices of replies). I ended up buying a throttle body with sensors from a 98 TJ 4.0 - so I should be in good shape. Thanks for the info everyone.
