Never done it either, but I'm heading out to get it done next payday :D I have never heard ANYTHING bad about it just positives.
The one question I have about it is do they just cut the tire or do the blades melt a little of the tire too?

I would think the big up grade would be on ice , the more cuts notchs help grip ice , snow would be the next benefit and heat dissapation of a tire .
Is it worth the cost ? no idea , i dont even know what it cost to have done .

So I guess my question is: Is it worth $75 to have your tires siped ($15 a tire and gas to get there)
O yea I got 33X12.5 BFG Mud's...
The last time I had tires siped was two years ago at Discount Tire. It cost $10.00/tire. IT WORKS wonders on lugged tires (hint, hint).

Holy hell yes it makes a huge difference on ice and hard pack if you have mod style tires.
Only down side is you get a little more chunking if you run sharp rocks.
So Beefy, you should be fine. :hehe:

I've had it done on two sets of tires years ago. 235/75r15 Mud Kings, and 31x10.50 BFG Muds(old style). Made a word of difference for them in winter and rain traction. I would suggest doing it...its only about $10-15 a tire.

My tires are siped. Chunking is a slight issue on sharp rocks.
HUGE difference on snow/ ice / wet roads with BFG MT km's

we siped all tires on our trucks in the Air Force for the added traction on ice. it is definately worth it.

Yes, especially with wide tires and mud tires on the road.

Ok...
Here's the straight poop - Siping your tires = FAWKING AWESOME
My 33x12.5's are sooo much better after this its amazing. Not a whole lot
of difference when it comes to busting trails... But on the street, hard packed,
and ice its a world of difference.
So all in all its worth the $60 i paid
