Iv been down there and you really dont need a leader . They give you a map and you cruise up the switch backs to the harder areas . Quite a bit of travel time on the trails to get to the obsticles . Theres stuff there to challenge what ever you bring .
The cabins are pretty nice too .

How hard are the trails?? I have heard all of them got a little rough stuff on them, which makes it hard for them to rate the trails

I did a pretty extensive write up on GL4x4 from my trip there in June. Went with grandcherokee, junk90xj and a few friends from Wisconsin. here's the link to the trip report with trail numbers, descriptions and pictures.

The toughness of the trails will vary depending on weather conditions. if it's dry, then most of the trails will be pretty easy except for the the hardest level trails. anyway, read the trail write up and then let me know if you have any questions. And I agree with grandman, with the map and someone who has a decent sense of direction you should be able to find everything without to much trouble. You can buy the maps online or at the harlan county campground.
If you see a red tube buggy driving around, introduce yourself to him and ask him about the trails. He's one of the trail cutters for the mountain and has help to find and cut pretty much any trail that's not road like out there.
