welp money aside, what would be more durable offroad? dont bias have a stronger sidewall?

no only if they made the size irok i want in BIAS :pissed: i guess i will just have to compramise and go smaller tire size then i wanted :hehe:

I bought those H1 Hummer tires off ebay...all 4 shipped to my house brand new for $275. They are bias plys but i couldn't pass up a deal like that!!!

Bias ply tires are better suited to the riggors of off road use . Much harder to puncture .

radial conforms easier , they will flex better at higher psi and drive nicer on the road . I would certainly give radial the thumbs up for winter wheeling but bia's will do fine if aired down far enough . I run 8 psi in the winter wheeling on bias , bead locks id run 3 or 4 psi .

Radials i never dropped below 10 to 14 depending on the stiffness of the tire .

SBC yj that is a steal

Bias ply has the radial beat all to Hell when it comes to wheeling. I luv my LTB's.

I am also pondering tires ........Looking at the Maxxis Creepy Crawlers..(Bias)...... but still really like my Swampers radial.....What to do? I don't drive on the road as much as I use to .so moving up to 35-36 I am looking hard at the Maxxis Creepy Crawlers..

Trup....those are pretty reasonable priced.but I am wondering .Whats the life of a Bias tire? Over radial? Longivity over Price. From what I have found.I will be spending major bucks on just tires alone. Not including the new wheels.

why dont you just run the 42" irok in bias? they stand 41.25 tall, so they are pretty close to a 41, have damn thick sidewalls, and the deepest tread of the iroks

ive thought about it. i probably will go 42" bia (only a .5" higher in actual ride hieght compared to the 41"s.) if i go a bigger tire then 39.5. my concern is with a 42" is the breakage. I would deffinitly need Longfield joints, all alloy shafts, and 35 spline outter which will add 1g. more to the build. im thinking 39.5 bias iroks. those will probably break less on dana 60/14bolt. i would just go a 37 or 38.5 but i wanna go a irok and i cant buy the same tire size twice :hehe:. My main reason for bigger tires is because obviously i need to run a 16.5"+ rim so i need new tires and i want to get some of my ground clearence back. shaving the rear 14 bolt a crap ton (maybe even turn the ring gear a bit down on a lathe to get more but i doubt ill get that extreme) is in the plan but am nervous about doing anything besides smoothing a front 60 bottoms out because that is an expensive axle to mess up shaving.

You need to get your horse back in front of your cart . < axels that will hold what your running now for instance

putting a 60 up front is what i would need to do. putting a 60 up front requires bigger rims which = new tires. 60 = less ground clearence. so im thinking a 39.5 irok would work and would hold up with a 60. i dont feel like putting more money into my front axle. i would need 1 more alloy shaft and CTMs/yukon super joints/longfields. so i figure ill just get rid of this axle. id rather have something that i could get off the shelf parts unlike my current axle.

Any reason for going so big, besides the front axle problem and needing to upgrade? IMO it would make everything too easy....Drummond Island wont be any challenge, most of Canada, as well as most everything around here....unless you are looking to head down south a lot more

so i dont loose much ground clearence. i do plan on heading down south 2-3 times this summer. Also there are plans this summer for maybe a bj.b rig 2.1 depending on how much money i make at my job and depending on how much my side work is going to may. doubtfull but a Possibility. already have the tires, and with luck I will soon have the springs. would just need to build a radius arm setup possibly unless i kept the factory short arms. :hehe:

16.5 rims wit da beadlockers

I wouldn't run 16.5s without bead locks they unseat way to easy. I plan on going to 16's if I ever get around to wearing out my 16.5's. but you should probably go with 24's and spinners because I know you'd love them.
