im about to buy a used gun from a guy and was wondering if i have to register it. not sure. is a shotgun. i know that you have to register handguns but didnt know about shotguns. this is the first one i bought my parents bought the other one i have. thanx for any help

At least get a bill of sale with serial numbers written down, signed & dated to except you from anything should shit hit the fan. Make two copies, each for both of you to keep.

never tell anyone you have it. That way they can't take it.
My dad gave me a gun for my birthday (he won it in a poker game in Florida). At the time, they didn't have to register guns there. I kept it unregistered for just that reason. Kept it that way until the police took it away. Then I had to prove it was mine!

Long guns don't need to be registered, but the bill of sale is an excellent idea because you don't know it's history. The b.o.s. may keep you out of jail.

Take it over to the post and they can run a check on the serial number if you want to be sure. Won't cost anything.

dont you remember our thrower? the one that hooks to the back of the truck. heck we can still shoot off the back side of the property
